How is Dutchess County performing?
Between 74% and 81% of Dutchess County's voting-age population has been registered to vote since 2000, consistently lower than state (excluding NYC) rates. Voter registration in the county increased for the 2008 presidential election between Senators Barack Obama and John McCain, the highest for the time frame at 81%. In 2014, 79% of voting-age residents were registered, matching Ulster and below Orange (80%).
